Designed to test seismic and wind, the Vidalta Bridge has a maximum slope of 3.2% from the residential complex towards the S.T.I.M Avenue, a section bearing 7 meters wide for two lanes of vehicular traffic and a wide sidewalk for pedestrian circulation.
We used a mixed technique with reinforced concrete casted on site for the shorter side (211 ft) and prefabricated with steel in the longer side (545 ft). Two inclined concrete columns were also constructed and supported to foundation that holds the steel straps that transmit the remaining strain to the structure base.
Protection measures were also implemented in the ravine such as enabling a main single access to the base of the bridge and a 100% harvest of storm water to prevent the spill into the ravine. The main foundation consists in a solid footing made of reinforced concrete with a base of 71 ft x 35 ft over the land that is part of the development.
