Batay-Csorba Architects was established in2010 by Andrew Batay-Csorba and Jodi Batay-Csorba as a collaborative architectureand interior design studio. The practicewas created in Los Angeles, California and moved to Toronto, bringing with itan unmarked outlook to the progression of design in Canada. Jodi and Andrewhave designed,directed and managed over 96 internationally celebrated projects in 38 citiesand 11 countries, both on their own and at Pritzker Prize-winning officesbefore founding Batay-Csorba Architects. Their own workhas been distinguished with international awards, widely published in over 80international publications and exhibited across 24 internationalgalleries.

Driven by the will to create innovative projects, to the benefit of the user, Bourgeois/Lechasseur architects’ approach is leading toward a contemporary architecture, realistic and sensitive, inspired by key features of the landscape. The subtle modelling and shaping of a volume lead the creative process of every building.

Established in Quebec City for 40 years and Montreal for nearly 20 years, BGLA’s work reflects an approach based on the subtle balance between the notions of space, sociability and the «design of daily life». For BGLA, each project is seen as a missing part in the completion of a larger project than the mandate itself. As such, the success of any architectural project is closely linked to the sense of belonging it provokes as well as the understanding of the place and the history it fosters. Each project is thus considered the culmination of a process in which the context – chiefly geographical, historical and social – is at the heart of the project’s programming and coming to life.

For us, to “think differently” is to create unique spaces. It is to provide meaningful and evocative spaces inspired by the spirit and history of the site. It is to propose accessible, simple and functional spaces which go beyond the ordinary and break out of imposed limits. To go beyond the limits is in itself a desire to do something different. It is a way of offering a new vision of the site, to establish a culture of contrasts, to be so bold as to propose dualities.

The fun of design lies in continuous creation

Blanchette Architectes, founded by Patrick Blanchette and Kevin Lavigne in 2018, has completed nearly 50 architectural projects. Blanchette Architectes works on everything from single-family and multi-unit residential developments to corporate and retail projects. The founders’ sensibilities have led them to assemble a collegial, multi-disciplinary team focused on developing carefully crafted architectural narratives. The winner of the Grand Prix de la Relève (best newcomer) at the 13th annual Grands Prix du Design and one of ten Merit Awards presented by the Shenzhen Design Awards for Young Talents (SDAY 2019), Blanchette Architectes has quickly made a name for itself in the architecture community.
