在2006年的，设计团队townshendla在一次针对公共领域设计的竞赛中获得大奖。这其中便包括对于Corvin电影院及其周边公共环境的设计与改造。要知道Corvin是匈牙利首都Budapest市最重要的地区之一，因此该项目在开始便受到了人们的格外关注。Corvin林荫大道在该地区属于繁华区域，这里有该市最大的零售商场，人流量很大，街道两边是商铺，服务设施以及各式各样的餐馆，酒吧，咖啡馆以及娱乐场所，到了晚上尤其热闹。

Corvin林荫大道是一个线状的几何结构，街道上有很多临时性的装置，主要的作用还是美化街道环境。街道两边的景观形成鲜明的对比，好像在进行一场比赛，创造出独特的视觉效果。该街道建成后便受到人们的追捧，这里现在已经成为了市民们主要活动区域之一，在一定程度上，也可以将之看做是整个城市的缩影，繁华却不失人情味儿。

In 2006 Townshend Landscape Architects won a competition to design the public realm based around Corvin cinema, one of the most poignant landmarks in Budapest. The Promenade, one of the largest retail destinations in the city centre is an engaging public space filled on both sides with shops, services and a large variety of quality restaurants, bars, cafes and entertainment venues.

The nature of Corvin Promenade is defined by its linear physical form and the temporal elements that inhabit the space. It is the interplay between the two that set the plan apart and create a visual spectacle. It is a space of civic proportions, a key intervention in the fabric of the City.
