Westfield大街是该地区购物中心附近的一条街道，也是Westfield人流量最大的区域之一。在这个大型的零售商场附近是著名的Elizabeth女王公园，值得一提的是，这里是2012年伦敦奥林匹克运动会的举办场所。据悉，该购物中心是在2011年9月份正式面向公众开放的。在该项目中，设计团队希望能够将这片公共领域改造成一条街道，不仅方便人们的出行，同时也可以作为一个广场的角色存在。该街道可以容纳大约8,500,000名游客，在奥运会和残奥会期间都接待了数以百万计的游客。

在该项目中，设计团队努力加强这块奥运会场地与东南方向以及Stratford市和国际接待处等公共区域的联系。为了更好的完成该项目，Townshend团队提出了一系列的改造措施来提高公共地区的条件，通过这条街道来创造更多的交互性设施，加深人们之间的交流，让空间的利用率达到最大化。

The Westfield 'Streets' are the public realm elements of Westfield Shopping Centre, a large retail development adjacent to Queen Elizabeth Park, formally the venue for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Following the shopping centre opening in September 2011, the challenge was to enhance and transform the existing public realm to 'The Street' and to prepare the street for the 8.5 million visitors who would visit The Street during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The key aim was to help strengthen the connections to the neighbouring areas between the Olympic site to the south-east and Stratford London and International Stations. In order to achieve this, Townshend Landscape Architects proposed a series of improvements to the public spaces and routes through the 'Streets' to create more intimate spaces.
