Fragmentary Work, the objective images are selected, refined and recombined by it, starting by thinking in parts, stitching up the whole of it, the layered presentation of historical traces, the juxtaposition of various elements, all of them make Fragmentary Work become a personalized architectural style where details can be touched and observed.

I consider this work, if you permit me, to be rather good and which will even get better over time. I have tried to put some poetic imagination into it, though not in order to create poetic architecture but to make a certain kind of architecture that could emanate a sense of formal poetry. I mean an expressed form that can become poetry.
《Can Architecture Be Poetry?》The lecture hold by Carlo Scarpa in vienna, 1976
This work is the office and exhibition hall for Tuscana sun shading system form Italy in Shanghai. Space is obsessed with an endless exploration of fragmentary forms, and expresses fragmentary, insubstantiality and poetry of the work.
Time is a non-explicit and ubiquitous element that integrates individual experience into work, and time is a tool to decompose and reconstruct space. Time is often connected with life. Life is temporal and continuous. When we want to know everything about time, it is our experience of life.
Express time in space, make present stand out in a timeless way; The permanence of the material permeates the space. The moment contains the past, present and future, and exploring the essence and poetry of time.
Space Communication
In this space, we hope to make people communicate with space through the fragmented presentation of space and the presentation of details. When the audience watches it, it opens a window between people and space. In this window, the fragments that evoke emotion appear repeatedly: the undulating steps, the layered and interspersed geometric form, the uncertain shadow, the beauty of materials...
The Presentation Of Fragments
The expression of space that explore the symbolic meaning of the work from its deep cultural system, after fragmenting and nodal the space, layer upon layer, through careful fragment dissolve the real feeling of the space, and finally into the spaces overall image, put the adornment of the nodes into space, show it delicately and truly, let people feel the beauty of the structure, material and process.
Poetic fragmentary space is connected with rationality, with light as the medium, bringing nodes and fragmentary into the whole.
The entrance of the meeting room is created in a multi-dimensional way, the staircase is designed in a layered way, and the wooden structure continues the shape of the staircase in an abstract way. These fragments continue like a movie, but also piece the whole.
Clipping Sunlight
Only the northwest side of the space has daylighting, and the entire east side lacks light, especially in the office area, including the meeting room.
Based on the adoration of natural light, if possible, we want to cut out a sunlight and let the light flow into these areas.
Louis Kahn once express the psychological feeling brought by the poetic representation of scarpas fragmentary work in poetry: “Beauty the first sense, Art the fir st Word, Then wonder, The inner realization of form ,Design consults Nature to give presence to the elements.”
The details
Detail description covers the space, all fragments are endowed with real and independent forms, and becoming persistent elements, the emergence of multiple sequences, the memory of time passing and the joy of beauty.
We use layered elements, and use of light subtly, vocabulary of separation, occlusion from scarpa into the design of the space. Show the continuity of material. It is flowing, changing, fleeting.
When the fragments turn from sparse to dense, the presentation of fragments gives the work a charm that surpasses all the details, and the style of the work turns from vague to clear, turning tiny and fragile into power, while poetry becomes the most mysterious and unique quality in the presentation of fragments.

NBD STUDIO is dedicated to exploring the higher ideological artistry of environmental space design. Not rigidly stick to the creation of the style of the times and techniques of tideway, so that the complicated become restrained, minimalist become geniality, traditional become fashionable. Make it possible to create creative designs that are reasonable and unexpected. We gain nutrition through continuous thinking and practice, and then give the project the greatest enthusiasm in the most perfect state.
