The Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative Office Building is a new 4-story building in Williston, North Dakota. Positioned in the center of the Western North Dakota Oil boom, MWEC has seen a large increase in their electrical service needs and had outgrown their existing building. They redeveloped their existing site to provide this new office building. The project highlights and showcases the efficient use of electricity while creating a beacon for MWEC on the north side of Williston. Anchored with portions of precast concrete walls that relate to the surrounding MWEC campus building, the large expanses of curtainwall glazing showcase the active office, collaborative, and tenant spaces within. The project was be designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating and placed special emphasis on the electrical components of LEED, given the nature of the cooperative.
