Asif is a new culinary center in Tel Aviv that operates under the umbrella of the Start-up Nation Central Foundation and is located on the ground floor of its office building (designed as well by Kimmel Eshkolot Architects). The space, which is housed in the former L28 restaurant, has been renovated to become a cultural center that includes a gallery for temporary exhibitions, library with over a thousand cookbooks, culinary books and gastronomy books, reading gallery and a deli with local goods.

The project transformed the L28 restaurant space into an eclectic urban space that connects discrete programs under one roof. The exhibition space is surrounded by 7-meter tall walls in concrete finish that frame this zone while maintaining views to the cafe. Display niches are carved into these walls, with hanging tools in stainless steel, positioned in equal intervals for flexibility in the installation of new displays. This space can be separated so new installations don’t require closing down the other areas.

木质的图书馆连接了首层的咖啡馆和阅读室，其中包含了很多不同的蓝色展品，以及与之匹配的蓝色框架。这个蓝色是Start-up Nation Central身份标识的一部分，与周围的自然色调形成对比。上方的阅读室能够看到整个空间，包括座位、珍藏书籍的展示和一座通往图书馆的入口桥梁。

A wooden library connects the ground floor cafe and reading gallery, and includes a variety of display objects that were painted in blue, with frames in matching color. This shade of blue is part of Start-up Nation Central’s graphic identity, and is contrasting to the natural color palette around. The upper reading gallery has a view of the entire space, with seating corners, display of rare books and a bridge for making the entire library accessible.
