Erene Ta Paa The sun had just risen, casting its golden light across the small town of Erene. It was the first day of summer, and the townspeople were filled with anticipation for the joys of summer. There were boat rides on the river, swimming in the lake, and picnics in the park. The children were especially excited; they ran around playing tag and singing songs about adventure and friendship. As they ran, their laughter echoed across the town square. Everyone in Erene had a smile on their face that day, for it was a time of joy and celebration As night began to set in, people gathered around the town square for a special event: a traditional bonfire dance known as ’Ta Paa’. The bonfire was lit and people began to dance around it in a circle. They sang old songs about summer and friendship as they spun around, their faces lit up by its warm light. Everyone felt uplifted by this gathering - no matter what trials they faced during the day, this moment brought them back together again. Even though it was just one night in an entire summer season, Erene Ta Paa would remain in their hearts forever.

The planet was in danger. The massive star, Gamma Crux, was slowly spiralling towards the orbit of Sentinel. Its gravitational pull was growing stronger and stronger, threatening to disrupt the entire solar system. It was up to the inhabitants of Sentinel to come up with a plan that could save their planet and their way of life. Sentinel had a powerful strong force field surrounding it, protecting it from the dangers of space. But this force field wasn’t enough to protect it from Gamma Crux. The inhabitants had to come up with something else - something that could divert the star’s course away from their planet forever. The solution came in the form of a massive space station - a giant wheel that would spin around Sentinel at an astronomical speed, generating an artificial gravitational pull that would counterbalance that of Gamma Crux and keep it safely away from them.
The construction of this station began immediately - every inhabitant working together to make sure that everything was done quickly and correctly. It was a massive effort but eventually, they succeeded in completing the station before Gamma Crux arrived in Sentinels’s orbit. As soon as the station began spinning around Sentinel, its artificial gravitational pull successfully diverted Gamma Crux away from them forever, saving the planet and its inhabitants from destruction.

Arcade was the first kind of entertainment that used electronic technology and video games. It was invented in 1971 by Nolan Bushnell, who later founded Atari. At the time, it was revolutionary because it allowed people to play video games in public places, such as arcades, restaurants, and shopping malls. Today, arcade games are still popular all over the world, and they have become a part of pop culture with iconic characters like Pac-Man and Space Invaders. Despite the popularity of home consoles like Xbox and PlayStation, people still flock to arcades around the world to play classic titles like Street Fighter or newer releases such as Dance Dance Revolution.

Georgina McWhirter is an Australian artist finding beauty in the discarded and overlooked. Through her work she seeks to transform objects of everyday life, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect on the character of the object and their own relationship to it. "I believe that beauty lies within small moments," says McWhirter. "The moment when a discarded object catches my eye, like a piece of old paper on a street, or a rusty chain sitting in the grass. I try to capture those moments and bring them into a new space." McWhirter’s practice centres around collecting found objects from everyday life such as metal chains, bits of paper or plastic bottles. She creates sculptures that explore the relationships between these materials and how they interact with each other. "I want to make something that will draw people in," she says, "something that people can be curious about, but also something which has its own aesthetic." This curiosity is extended to her work with found photographs. McWhirter has an eye for finding special images in vintage magazines or old books which she then enlivens with textiles and hand embroidery. These pieces add an unexpected layer of depth and meaning to her work. Through her process McWhirter hopes to give these images a new life by inviting viewers to reconsider them. "I want people to think ’what’s this? What am I looking at?’" McWhirter’s work is collected internationally – often appearing at art fairs around Australia and beyond – but you can also find it online through Instagram or Etsy where she regularly posts her latest creations: @georgina_mcwhirter

Grain was founded by a team of four passionate industrial designers and engineers, on a mission to create sustainable furniture that looks good and has a minimal environmental impact. Drawing on their experience from companies like Apple, Nike, and IDEO, they set out to create a modern take on natural materials. The team began experimenting with cork, which is harvested sustainably from trees without cutting them down. As the trees grow they naturally shed large pieces of bark which can be collected without causing any harm. This cork is then pressed into panels or spun into threads and used to fabricate furniture.$#Cork is not only sustainable – it also offers unique benefits. It’s lightweight, waterproof, stain-resistant, acoustically absorbent, and antimicrobial. These properties make it perfect for furniture that needs to be durable yet lightweight enough to move around easily.$#Grain’s Clover series contains side tables in three sizes with coordinating coffee tables. The designs feature legs made from solid recycled aluminum with powder-coated finishes in muted colors like olive green and ash grey.$#The collection is now available for purchase online in North America with international shipping coming soon.
