Dezeen Showroom: designed by Paolo Zani for Italian brand Warli , the Ponza rug combines traditional weaving with a high-tech yarn that makes it suitable for the outdoors.

The Ponza rug is made using the hand-knotted sumak weaving technique, traditionally used in the Caucasus and Persia, in a synthetic weather-proof yarn.

With each rug featuring five blocks of mélange colour, Ponza is meant to give outdoor settings the same level of elegance and care normally associated with interiors.

The yarn is durable, UV resistant and water repellant, and can also be given stain-proof and anti-mould treatments.

There are four neutral colour combinations, including white/dark, grey/pink/brown/cream, and cream/grey/white/soil/dark grey.

It is also possible to order custom sizes, in consultation with Warli's technical department.
