这是我在5月份某个阴雨天的清晨拍下的大谷仓,也是刻意尝试在这样的天气下,看看能拍出什么样的效果。显然新的尝试是很有意义的——这次的拍摄不代入任何其他人的视角,完全以我个人的“成见”去表达,正是因为新的尝试让我再次推翻自己曾经尽可能”客观真实“地表达建筑的想法。我认为客观地拍摄本身就是很难的,无论何种拍摄,我们不妨一开始就敢于带着自己的想法去拍,而后再去思考这是否是自己想要的,或许会有意外的收获。
This is a big barn I took on a rainy morning in May, and I deliberately tried to see what kind of effect I could achieve in such weather. Obviously, the new attempt is very meaningful – this shooting does not incorporate anyone else’s perspective, but rather expresses it entirely based on my personal ‘preconceptions’, It is precisely because of the new attempt that I have once again overturned my previous idea of expressing architecture as objectively and truthfully as possible. I believe that objectively shooting itself is difficult, and no matter what kind of shooting, we may as well dare to take it with our own ideas from the beginning, and then think about whether this is what we want, perhaps there may be unexpected gains.

记得几年前我在学习摄影的过程中并没有刻意地去拒绝坏天气,而是积极地去应对它,通过“不拒绝坏天气”来训练自己的审美及拍摄能力。而在当我真正成为一名职业建筑摄影师后,面对商业项目我常常会像很多人一样选择稳妥效率且不容易出错的晴天拍摄,也许有些项目确实是适合如此,但在拍完大谷仓这组阴雨天的照片后,我更加清醒地认知到每个建筑有适合它的拍摄天气和环境。
I remember a few years ago when I was studying photography, I did not deliberately reject bad weather, but actively responded to it and trained my aesthetic and photography skills by “not rejecting bad weather”. When I really became a professional architecture photographer, I often chose to shoot commercial projects in sunny days that were safe, efficient and not easy to make mistakes, as many people do. Maybe some projects are really suitable for this, but after taking pictures of the big barn in rainy days, I realized more clearly that each building has the weather and environment suitable for its shooting.

单向空间创始人许知远老师曾在《十三邀》中说过:“我试图捕捉时代的精神,却又常常厌恶时代的流行情绪”,这个想法延伸到摄影创作的过程中,我也常有类似的矛盾——很想用力地去抓住一些“东西”,但又很厌恶那些普遍的“画面”。
Teacher Zhiyuan Xu, the founder of OWSPACE, once said in “Thirteen Invitations”: “I try to capture the spirit of the times, but often dislike the popular emotions of the times.” This idea extends to the process of photography creation, and I often have similar contradictions – I want to forcefully grasp some “things”, but I also dislike those common “images”.
