Rose Tuckey, the owner of the brand new eatery, fell in love with the interior of Blandford Comptoir in Marylebone and knew this was the look and feel she wanted for her restaurant.
Together we created a very trendy look, that has a slight vintage finish, full of curves, with a mix of velvet, metal, leather and marble. Soft and hard, warm and cool, the interior is very tactile, with a boutique atmosphere.
We have designed a totally bespoke floor fixed bar seating, from the drawings to frames and beautiful soft turquoise leather seats, to match the fixed seating. The interior features our Joe chair, upholstered in a light leather to contrast its slender black metal legs.
To continue with the contrasts, all the tops are marble and a mix of square, round and half-moon shapes. Booths create a seamless flow between the seat and the half-moon tables, whereas the freestanding seating feels more intimate in a round shape.
There are a few intricate details at Hām that stand out, but don’t feel out of place, such as the recycled leather in the front of the bar, that has been folded into small wave shapes, to create softness against the marble bar top. Lighting fixtures have a brass finish to match with freestanding table bases. Legs on the Joe chair match perfectly with the table bases against the fixed seating, as Rose wanted those to blend in and keep brass and marble as the main feature.
Hām was a very fantastic project to be involved with from start to finish, Rose had a clear vision and was open to our suggestions. The overall look created is clean, very modern vintage, tactile, and will stay current for years to come. It is worth a visit, if not for the beautiful décor, then for the food itself, already mentioned in Evening Standard and The Week magazine.
