HUXHUX Design has completed the design for Ignitia Office’s Brooklyn coworking space located in New York City, New York.
This is Ignitia Office’s first coworking facility in New York City. We were hired as Head of Design for this brand to design their workplace interiors and to set the design standards for the brand. For us, we sought to differentiate this new brand through elevating the design of this now-common typology. Instead of stock furniture, which often takes on a character of quasi-residential and cliché expectations for coworking office facilities, we decided early on in the process that we would develop nearly every piece of furniture in the space as a custom designed element for our client. We worked tirelessly to research both aesthetics and performance to deliver sustainable designs for furniture that will age gracefully over time with heavy use in the common office spaces. Custom became the name of our game. This carried through in our approach to conditioning social spaces with custom designed wall-coverings as well.
As we developed the brand with our clients, we spent months researching the precise mix of programming that we wanted to maximize profitability and also to optimize the functionality of the complex. This research allowed us to both identify industry standards and also to differentiate the brand from its competitors.
