In Chalepa of Chania, an area of great architectural and historical interest, the new store of the coffee chain HABIT, was designed and built. It is a ground floor elongated shop of 48sqm which includes the main store area, a preparation room and bathroom for staff and visitors.
The architectural study was called upon to address the problem of the small area of the store. For this reason, emphasis was placed on the location of the functions of the store in such a way as to save the maximum possible useful space. To the right of the entrance is placed the space of preparation and receiving of coffee, in the background the preparation room and then the bathroom. Emphasis is placed on the look of the shop, which acquires large openings in order to achieve the maximum possible lighting and ventilation of the space.
The decoration study proposes the creation of a welcoming and functional space. A mosaic-like tile was placed on the walls and floor, while a small tile was placed on the wall behind the work area. The bar was invested with cement-textured tile and at the same time, the roof of the shop remained untenable. The lighting of the space is done by contour that end up on rails of external white spots. The space is complemented by distinctive white metal structures to support shelves on which the store's selling products are placed. In the same style, the look of the shop is shaped. Large white openings were selected and part of the face was lined with the inner tile.
