This office comprises two large rooms for founder partners and five smaller ones, for associate partners. There are two meeting rooms, a rectangular one for 10 people, while the other, elliptical, for six. There are also the general lawyers’ office, the administrative area and the trainees’ workstations area. The office is served with six toilet rooms and a kitchen. The idea was to solve form and function by making the best from solar orientation and external views, so a system that emulates an urban tissue was defined. Private offices and meeting rooms comprise “blocks”, while internal and external circulations form “streets”. Reception, print sectors and meeting points form “squares”, from which the circulations open widely. Space division is accomplished with sliding and intersecting planes, either made of dry-wall opaque surfaces or double-glazed transparent ones, installed from floor to ceiling without horizontal breaks. Curved or angled surfaces add drama to main spaces, such as reception and meeting rooms, providing unexpected experiences to visitors. Every unnecessary element is suppressed, such as door frames, baseboards or decorative pieces. Instead, the original concrete structure is deliberately exposed, with its pillars, beams and ribbed slabs, which receives direct lighting to enhance the aesthetical impact. Located in Porto Alegre, Brazil, the office reflects transparence, solidity and security, values inherent to the work of Pimentel & Rohenkohl Law Firm.
