Nadine Engelbrecht completed her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Pretoria in 2008. Additional expertise in sustainable architecture was gained when she participated as a guest student in the Master degree, Climate Design, at the Technical University of Munich, Germany.

Created Nico van der Meulen Architects 1984 with his wife, Santa. Received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Architecture 2018, Has designed buildings in 42+ countries globally. Currently employing around 25 staff, including their two sons and their wives, all architects. Has designed homes for presidents, presidents in waiting, kings and tycoons, and their families globally. Established MSquare Lifestyle Design and MSquare Lifestyle Necessities in the early 2000's to create interiors matching the architecture created by the team.
