The currents, eddies, and vortexes that shape wind and weather patterns around the globe also have a direct impact on air travel in ways that are both supportive and disruptive. This artwork is a representation of the dynamic air currents that oscillate between stable and turbulent wind conditions. The piece is constructed from over 4,000 pieces of formed aluminium, sculpted to evoke the flow of a steady breeze in a field. The permanent sculpture spans 294 feet and is situated in the newly expanded O’Hare Airport Transit Hub.
