Collective Parenthese的年度设计师Franklin Azzi为2022年3月举办的法国大型室内设计交易会(Maison & Objet)打造了装置“复古未来(RETRO FUTUR)”。
For the March 2022 edition at Maison & Objet, we built the RETRO FUTUR installation designed by Franklin Azzi, named designer of the year.

作为建筑师代表,Franklin Azzi以该艺术装置为媒介,用昨天的工具对明天的创作过程提出了质疑。
RETRO FUTUR is an artistic installation that questions the creative process of tomorrow with the tools of yesterday, following the example of the profession of architect as exercised by Franklin Azzi.

沉浸式的“复古未来”装置通过精致的模块化黑漆金属打造的数字桌展示了建筑师的日常生活。桌面一系列屏幕上“摆放”着成盒的基本工具和建筑行业专用的方板、圆板、描图纸、灯台等,此外,还有模型、材料、草图等项目中涉及的日常道具。这些固定与可移动的图像探讨了相关机构的最新研究成果与建筑师手绘工作的内在联系。
The immersive installation RETRO FUTUR proposes to stage the daily life of the architect by means of a digital table, modular and refined, in black lacquered metal: it diffuses, on a series of screens, a box of elementary tools and specific to the trade (square, rotring, tracing paper, light table etc.) but also the daily supports necessary for the development of a project: models, materials, sketches etc. Fixed and moving images parade and show the manual gestures of the architect’s work in connection with the agency’s latest achievements.

从工业中挪用的产品——毛毡捆扎带,将空间与展厅其他部分隔离开来。正如艺术家约瑟夫·博伊斯(Joseph Beuys, 1921-1986)所尽力诠释的那样,毛毡这种奇妙的天然材料可以维持热量,它是激发这位德国艺术家创造力的真正引擎。包括天花板在内,展厅完全使用毛毡作为内衬,从而创造出一个有利于集中注意力的声学气泡。板条帘的形式能够使参观者自由地进入和离开装置。展览所用的毛毡为法国公司Le Feutre本地制造,作为一种多年生的天然材料,毛毡带给人一种亲密和宁静的感觉。
A strapping in strips of felt, a diverted product from industry, isolates the object from the rest of the living room. As Joseph Beuys (1921-1986) did his best to mention it, felt is a wonderful natural material, allowing it to retain heat, a source of energy that was a real engine of creativity for the German artist. The space generated is entirely lined with felt, including the ceiling, thus creating an acoustic bubble conducive to concentration. The format of the slatted curtain invites the visitor to enter and leave the installation freely. Felt as a perennial and natural material, made in France (Le Feutre company), gives a feeling of intimacy and serenity.

该装置反映出设计、建筑、电影、文学、时尚等创意艺术领域中的复古未来主义趋势,这是Collective Parenthese整体构思的灵感来源之一。这种风格融汇了幻想文学和科幻小说中构想的画面,主张现在所有未来主义的事物都会随着时间的推移变成一种复古未来主义。
The installation is firmly in line with the trend of retro-futurism in the creative arts (design, architecture, cinema, literature, fashion, etc.) which is one of the sources of inspiration in the agency’s overall approach. It is characterized by a mixture of imagery where progress and science fiction are imagined in the past with the perspective that all things futuristic in the present become, over time, retro-futuristic.

与Collective的每个项目一样,“复古未来”是一个可避免浪费的循环性经济装置。毛毡、木结构和金属桌子在未来项目中可以通过再利用而获得新生。
As with each of the Collective’s projects, RETRO FUTUR is a circular economy installation that involves no event waste. The felt, the wooden structure and the metal tables will have a second life in a future reuse project.
