Description of the Project
本人行桥项目位于扬州市宝应高铁站站前广场入口处,全长 86m,为三跨连续张弦钢箱梁桥(23+40+23m),桥面变宽度,中央桥面最大宽度 23m,最小宽度 17m;桥面中间镂空两处,用于观赏下部的河面景观。桥面按 1:12 起坡。
The Pedestrian Bridge is located in the entrance of the Baoying high speed railway station square in Yangzhou. The bridge is 86 meters long, with a deck that varies in widths, ranging from 17 meters to 23 meters. It uses three-span cable-strengthened steel box girder(23+40+23m). There are two long openings through the walking deck in the center, which provide a nice view of the river scenery under the bridge. The slope of the bridge deck is 1:12.

设计特点
Statement from the Architect
自然环境启发的形态:宝应是中国的莲藕之乡,受“荷叶”的寓意及形态的启发,设计采用了柔和和蜿蜒起伏的桥身轮廓曲线,桥面宽窄自由的开合收分,张驰有道的桥底拉索,使得整座桥如同漂浮在水面上的薄薄荷叶,舒缓开敞,自然亲切,优雅灵动。从自然环境中提取的形态设计协调并延伸了站前广场空间,在凸显了步行桥的柔和、飘逸的特质的同时,增强了入口空间的场所感。
The form inspired by nature: Baoying is well known in China for its lotus root, which carries rich culture and symbolism in the country’s art history. Inspired by those meanings and the natural form of lotus leaf, the design of the pedestrian bridge uses soft and undulating contour; free, varied-width deck forming the body; and delicately arranged tension cables at the bottom of the structure. The bridge is just like a thin lotus leaf floating on the river – intimate with nature, open leisurely, yet flexible and dynamic. This form, extracted from the nature, well coordinates with and extends the front square of the Baoying high speed railway station. By enhancing the genius loci of the entrance space, the design visually demonstrates its soft and natural grace.

功能需求强化的形式:人行桥连接了河道两侧的空间,强化了广场的轴线关系。设计在实现通行的连续与快捷功能的同时,注重通行过程中的观景体验与休憩。设计刻意强化了桥面宽度的变化,提供了桥面中央的停留休憩空间,让人行桥成为了广场空间的外延与拓展。桥面局部连续的镂空处理,产生了桥面的虚实与明暗对比,桥内与桥外、桥上与桥下的多维视觉渗透增添了层次性,产生了丰富的框景与借景效果,极大地丰富了穿行体验。
The enhanced form in accordance with functions: Coordinating the axial relation with the front square, the pedestrian bridge connects two sides of the river, providing continuous and convenient pedestrian passing. Besides the main function, there’s an equal stress on creating attractive recreation site and interesting viewing experience. Some deliberate designs include the variation of widths of the walking deck, which provides a larger resting space in the center, making the bridge an extension of the front square space. The partial long openings through the deck create contrasts between emptiness and fullness, light and shade. The different viewing points of the bridge (inside, outside, above, under) add layers to the multi-dimensional visual perception, intensifying the effect of borrowing scenery and frame scenery, and greatly enriching the walking experiences.

精致与优雅的结构:人行桥设计重构结构形态,项目设计把单一的简支梁桥优化为连续梁桥,在重新分配桥梁的内力、形式的关系基础上,取得内力与形式的协调,获得了更加纤细的体量和更为连续的造型。主桥截面类似于并置的倒三角形,边缘轻薄,并辅以底部的张弦和撑杆,从而具有了传力清晰,截面精确的优雅结构形态,在强化结构的在场体验的同时,也让桥梁举重若轻,协同于高铁站的场所精神。
An elegant structure with precision and clarity: The design optimizes the singly supporting beam bridge into a continuous one. On basis of redistributing internal stresses, the design reshapes the form, acquiring the balance between the internal stresses and form of bridge, attaining more continuous and slim volume. The outline of the deck section looks like two reverse triangles in parallel. They have thin edges, and they are strengthened by tension cables and compression bars. In this way, the structure exhibits elegance with its precision and clarity of load transferring. This design enhances the structural perception while maintaining a visually slim body for the bridge, which fits well with the genius loci around the high speed railway station.

城市记忆和地标:人行桥设计从自然和环境共生角度出发,按照轻重缓急、动静、虚实、显隐等行为和视角要素考量桥梁形态的生成,以技术上的精确极简,创造优雅轻盈的结构体态馈赠环境,成为城市中人们过目不忘、留恋想往的地方,使步行桥成为城市区域的新标识,并随着时间转换为城市记忆。
Urban memory and new landmark: The design of the pedestrian bridge maintains the bridge’s coexistence with nature and environment. The form is evolved not only from functional needs of priority and activity, but also form visual factors of contrasts between the virtual and real, the explicit and implicit. Through technical precision and simplicity, we created a light and elegant structure that resonates with its environment. The bridge intends to be a new landmark and ingrains itself in the urban memory as time goes on, as it leaves pedestrians with long-lasting impressions and nostalgia.
