The beauty that emerges over time.

RYÙ壽司餐廳在蒙特利爾市中心的Peel大街開設了第5家店面，由Ménard Dworkind Architecture & Design擔任設計。

RYÙ sushi restaurant opened its fifth storefront in downtown Montreal on Peel street, designed by Menard Dworkind Architecture & Design.

在對既有空間進行清除之後，建築的歷史印記得以展現出來。原來的牆壁覆蓋着日積月累形成的、一層由石膏、油漆和牆紙拼縫起來的飾面。這種質地豐富的堆積效果爲設計師帶來了靈感，決意以“侘·寂”作爲餐廳的設計方向。侘·寂是一種隨着時間推移才能夠逐漸顯現的美，往往展現出殘損和破碎的跡象。因而，需要在設計的過程中將這些原始的牆壁保留下來。在此基礎上，設計師選擇了一種極簡的材料搭配方式，旨在與既有的牆壁形成對比。

After the clearance of the existing space, the historical imprint of the building is revealed.The original walls are covered with a layer of plaster, paint and wallpaper stitched together over the years.This rich texture accumulation inspired the designer to take wabi sabi as the direction of the restaurant.Wabi-sabi is a beauty that emerges over time, often showing signs of damage and fragmentation.Therefore, these original walls need to be preserved during the design process.On this foundation, stylist chose a kind of minimalist material collocation way, aim to form contrast with already existing wall.

天花板上安裝了一個由木質條塊銜接而成的懸浮結構，使人想起傳統的日式木工，同時也起到了隱藏機械管道的作用。建築性的照明策略使該裝置處展現出更加溫暖和優雅的效果。用餐空間的牆壁以鏡面鋪設，進一步強化了這種重複疊加的效果。

The ceiling is fitted with a suspended structure made of jointed wooden blocks, reminiscent of traditional Japanese carpentry, which also serves to hide mechanical pipes.The architectural lighting strategy makes the installation more warm and elegant.The walls of the dining space are lined with mirrors, further reinforcing the effect of repetition.

工藝精緻的吧檯由啞光的黑色合成材料Polaris覆蓋，天鵝絨般的柔滑質地爲其賦予了一種未來主義的氛圍。吧檯上方懸掛着由370塊激光切割鋁材構成的條形燈具，並以黃銅管進行連接。一體化的黃銅託樑沿着吧檯背景牆延伸，30英尺長的原鋼結構被固定在立柱上，爲100多瓶清酒和日本威士忌提供了陳列空間。

The artistically crafted bar is covered in matte black synthetic Polaris, with a velvety silky texture that gives it a futuristic vibe.Over the bar are 370 strip lamps made of laser-cut aluminum and connected with brass tubes.The all-in-one brass joist extends along the bar's backdrop, and the 30-foot-long steel structure is anchored to columns, providing display space for more than 100 bottles of sake and Japanese whiskey.

吧檯對面的三張桌子和長椅是通過將鋼型材直接澆築到混凝土牆壁而構成的，看上去如同漂浮在空間當中。其他的座椅以皮革覆蓋，靠背使用木材作爲飾面。由彎折的鋼材和亞麻布料製成的桌燈與這些“漂浮”的桌子形成和諧的搭配。

The three tables and benches opposite the bar are constructed by pouring steel profiles directly into the concrete walls and appear to float in the space.The rest of the seats are covered in leather and the back is clad in wood.Table lights, made of bent steel and linen, complement the floating tables.
