Jorge Almaz¨¢n Architects is an architecture and urban design practice committed to create environmentally responsible and socially inclusive spaces. Based in Tokyo, and with projects in Japan and Spain, we find constant sources of inspiration in the Japanese material sensitivity and in the Mediterranean urban liveliness. Our practice is translocal: We believe in the international transferring of ideas, and in the critical distance afforded by a foreign gaze, but at the same time we always commit to the local materiality and spatial practices of each context

From nature to architecture, there are many types of possible status. “Kaizai space” balance nature and architectural environment, it has many kinds of possibilities in different climate conditions. We try to develop a new experience of “Kaizai status”depending on the inspirations gained from local conditions.

Active in the fields of design, contemporary art and architecture, with works transcending human senses and themed in nature, he is highly acclaimed globally.

Architect. Having graduated from Tokyo University Jun Aoki worked at Arata Isozaki & Associates before establishing his own Tokyo-based practice in 1991 to do ‘anything that seemed interesting’. Subsequent works have included spanerse directions such as a series of houses, public architecture, and fashion boutiques as a current series of Louis Vuitton stores.
