GERARD DE HOOP is a product, material and architectural designer. His work consists of a constant search for innovation and resourcefulness in the field of functional products. His ambition is to make unique designs that carry the elements simplicity, surprise and versatility in them. Simplicity is mainly brought about by the use of basic geometric shapes. He always explores the boundaries of what is possible, and he is always looking for a certain tension. This element of surprise, that special effect is what he is aiming for.

Dopo la maturità al Liceo Artistico di Zurigo, Guy Muntwyler ha studiato all' Accademia di Architettura a Mendrisio, dove ha frequentato gli ateliers dei professori F. e M. Aires Matteus, M. Arnaboldi, M. Botta, H. Tesar ed E. Zenghelis. Diploma 2005 presso prof. Valerio Olgiati. Dal 2005 al 2007 lavora come architetto progettista presso lo Studio di Architettura Peter Zumthor, Haldenstein. È stato assistente di progettazione presso i professori B. Soeldner (Università Ferrara), Bijoy Jain (Studio Mumbai), Yvonne Farrell e Shelley McNamara (Atelier Grafton) presso l' AAM. Nel 2007 fonda lo studio di Architettura a Mendrisio sviluppando i suoi principale passione.
