Nach ihrem Studium an der ETH Z¨¹rich, arbeiteten Loretan und Schelling f¨¹r international bekannte Studios in New York und London, w?hrend Traxler als Projektleiter in einem renommierten Schweizer B¨¹ro t?tig war. Zusammen mit einem Team von Architekten und Ingenieuren arbeiten sie an einem breiten Spektrum von Projekten: von privaten bis zu ?ffentlichen Bauaufgaben wie Schulen, Wohnungs- und Infrastrukturbau

New direction of design

Karsten Schmidt-Hoensdorf was born in Munich in 1956. He studied history and political science in Toulouse and Munich before he turned to architecture. During his study of architecture, he was able to gain experience as the leading interior architect at a Zurich architectural office in implementing major projects. In 1993 he established his own architectural office with an emphasis on interior architecture and design. The focus in the industry is in gastronomy/the hotel business and in the art and culture area. Karsten Schmidt-Hoensdorf also works as a consultant in addition to implementing his own projects.

When I started quattro interiors in Sydney in 2000 the aim was to build an innovative design studio that produced beautiful environments people wanted to be in. Our track record over those years shows how successfully we achieved that. Our considered, creative approach has resulted in an extensive portfolio of enduring and highly functional residential, corporate and hospitality projects. In 2014 I decided that it was time for quattro’s next challenge and that meant opening up in Zermatt, Switzerland. A huge part of our success to date has been because the business always embraces new challenges and influences – and working within the European interiors market does that and moves the business onto another level. But regardless of where we are, quattro retains the same commitment to quality and attention to detail. Our expansive, inclusive approach covers all aspects of the interior experience – both visual and tactile – to create timeless, comfortable, inspiring spaces. Taking time to understand our clients’ needs is key to our collaborative approach and ensures that the final result maximises their investment and becomes a space they will truly want to spend time in.
