Polygroup supplied 30,000 sqm of raised access floor for the administrative offices of

of the regional ministries departments for Extremadura.

This building has maximized the use of renewable energies such as micro-cogeneration, biomass, solar photovoltaic, and geothermal energy. The new headquarters were designed to achieve thermal, visual, indoor air quality comfort and sound quality. The constructions used local materials, not only in the main building elements such as walls and roofs but also in paints, raised access flooring, exterior openings, frame, and insulation.

Within the requirements of efficiency, the use of UFAD (Underfloor air distribution) technology was required where the air conditioning is controlled through air conducted from a raised access floor system.

In this case, POLYGROUP supplied the raised access floor system GAMAFLOR FULL STEEL HEAVY MEDIUM finished from factory with linoleum using SOVEREIGN TECHNOLOGY. The raised access floor system has been designed and developed to withstand high loads, as well as to resist high temperatures with a level of moisture absorption of 0%.

The determination of the use of the GAMAFLOR FULL STEEL raised floor system was motivated by different mechanical, aesthetic, and functional factors. An innovative design was obtained where the occultation of the edge of the tile provided an appearance of greater homogeneity and continuity to this constructive element of the building as a result of the SOVEREIGN TECHNOLOGY.

The work was carried out by the Fairbanks Architects Studio, a team of experienced architects and professionals from other disciplines with more than 15 years of experience working together in the development of projects of different sizes and complexities.
