当我们看到这个世界的城市、城镇、村庄中最美丽的环境时，总是会对它们本质上某种程度有机的感觉印象深刻。一切都似乎相互融合。在世间旅行，我们总是会在寻找这样的地方：不论大小，每个细节都体现了人性的尺度，每处设计都服务于生活的丰富多样的需求，并通过物质和精神元素的呈现使各地之间彼此有别。

When we look at the most beautiful environs in the cities, towns, and villages of this world, we are always impressed by the feeling that they are somehow organic in nature.  Everything seems to fit together.  When we travel the world we are constantly searching for these places.  Places where there is a human scale in every detail- large and small.  Places where there is a feeling that everything was designed to support the great diversity of life and a realization of the physical and spiritual elements that make one place different from another.

中国佛山是广东省第三大城市，因其作为中国领先的艺术和学术中心之一而声名远扬，佛山岭南天地毗邻始建于宋代、迄今已有900余年历史的佛山祖庙，是一个大规模的自适应的再生的历史保护开发项目，结合本土热带植物、灵动有趣的水景，林荫大道及活动广场共同营造了集娱乐、工作、购物和餐饮于一体的迷人氛围。

Renowned as one of China's leading centers of art and scholarship Foshan,China is the third largest city of Guangdong Province, and adjacent to the 900-year-old Song Dynasty Foshan Zumiao Temple. Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, a large scale adaptive re-use historic preservation development, has become acaptivated atmosphere for entertainment, work, shopping and dining with indigenous tropical flora, playful water features and tree-sheltered lanes and plazas.

Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, a renovated old town of “in-between”spaces made from former factories, shops, and houses within an ancient sector of Donghuali is hometown to ceramic art, authentic Cantonese food and martial arts.

这个耗资3亿美金、取得了巨大商业成功的项目展示了现代化的中国大都市的成就。为了在这个中国的新时代传递美好，我们必须找到一种方法来与当代社会人们的心理和实际需求联系起来。这始终是一个挑战。

A $300 million commercial achievement of urbanization, Lingnan Tiandi demonstrates what modern metropolitan China can be.  To deliver beauty in this new age of China we must find a way to connect with the psychological and practical demands of a contemporary society. This is always a challenge.

充满特色与活力的步行街，其艺术感构建于本土时空之上，充满了本土文化的独特韵味。

Pedestrian streets full of quirks and life defined by aesthetics of our time and place，filled with special lasting appealing of local culture.

创建佛山岭南天地的目的是抓住一种真实的感觉和特点：一切似乎都相互融合。在重型机械进入现场之前，我们在设计阶段特别注意了原有的石材铺法和现状树以及文物的测绘文件。随着设计的推进，这些文件也成为了设计过程的一部分。

The goal in the creation of Foshan Lingnan Tiandi was to capture this feeling and character that feels true: a place where everything seems to fit together. Careful attention during the design phase was taken to document existing stone pavers, trees and other artifacts before the heavy machinery were moved in on site. This documentation became a part of the design process as the design evolved.

窄窄的街道，庭院，小花园，小巷和屋顶花园定义了空间，阳台和飘窗上满是鸟笼和鲜花。这种感觉不是单体建筑或是某种建筑风格可以传达的。作为一个团队，我们每天都在提醒自己，实实在在保护窄街，门廊，庭院和小巷的空间构架的人性化尺度比试图回到过去更为重要。

Spaces are defined by the narrow streets,courtyards, small gardens, alleyways and rooftop gardens with bird cages and flowers that occupy the balconies and bay windows.  It is a feeling that cannot be conveyed by the architecture of a single building or even a style of building. As a team, were mind ourselves daily that it is dramatically more important to conserve the human scale of the spatial framework of the alleyways, doorways, courtyards and lanes than to try to turn back the clock.

陶瓷的质地以及颜色诠释了佛山的过往，郁郁葱葱的热带植栽为华南炎热的天气消暑遮荫，运用当地材料设计的水景为场地带来了凉意，而这一切都增添了老东华里真实的气息。

Texture, color in ceramics known to define old Foshan,lush tropical trees used to shade hot days of South China and cooling water features using local materials add to the true spirit found in old Donghuail.
