Founded in 1986, ARCHITEM Wolff Shapiro Kuskowski architects was one of Canada’ first architectural firms to be led by women. It evolved from a close collaboration between Architects Andrea Wolff, Elizabeth Shapiro, and Magda Kuskowski. The team was later joined by Mira Katnick who became the firm’s fourth partner in 2006. Today, the firm is known for its institutional, commercial, and residential projects as well as its interior design work.

Founded in 1999, John Ronan Architects is an internationally-recognized design firm based in Chicago and comprised of dedicated design professionals committed to producing architecture of the highest quality, marked by conceptual innovation, exploration of materiality, and a rigorous attention to detail. The firm has a studio culture and its working method is research-based and collaborative.

Composed of a collective of dynamic architects, KANVA is a young architectural firm whose work is at the forefront of thinking, imagining, drawing and constructing in Montreal and beyond. Their big ideas, gestures and approach to contemporary issues have gained local, national and international attention. KANVA is the recipient of the prestigious Award of Excellence for Innovation in Architecture by the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada for their mixed-use residential project Irene. Recently they won the international competition hosted by Space for Life to re-design the Biôdome for Montreal’s 375th anniversary.

Established in Quebec City for 40 years and Montreal for nearly 20 years, BGLA’s work reflects an approach based on the subtle balance between the notions of space, sociability and the «design of daily life». For BGLA, each project is seen as a missing part in the completion of a larger project than the mandate itself. As such, the success of any architectural project is closely linked to the sense of belonging it provokes as well as the understanding of the place and the history it fosters. Each project is thus considered the culmination of a process in which the context – chiefly geographical, historical and social – is at the heart of the project’s programming and coming to life.

ABCP architecture was founded in 1987 and has distinguished itself by designing elegant, original projects combining elements of urban design, architecture, and interior design. The firm was initially located in Saint-Hyacinthe, but quickly diversified its expertise in Montreal and Quebec City. ABCP’s head office is now in Quebec City. ABCP has grown in recent years through its merger with Architectes Gallienne Moisan, a well-established firm since 1970, as well as by the addition of numerous other competent and recognized staff members that have regularly joined the team. Seven of ABCP’s architects are partners in the firm.
